Testimonials
I have had the privilege of working with The Access Academy for the past two years as the Community Resource Provider for the Blount County Project SEARCH Program. During the past two years, I have found The Access Academy to be excellent partners in providing services for students with disabilities.
The Access Academy staff has maintained an excellent and professional attitude in providing support fo rate Project SEARCH Interns. The staff goes above and beyond to maintain good relationships and be part of the placement team as well as the long term service provider.
I would highly recommend Tim Robbins and The Access Academy as community service providers in any program.

We have worked with The Access Program for 3 years. They have provided superior instruction with Pre-Employment Transition Services in all 4 of our high schools. In addition, they have provided job placements for many of our students. The Access Program models appropriate workplace services across the state and they continue to excel in providing services for disabled youth and adults. They provide personalized services and basically they are great!

I am writing this letter to serve as a letter of recommendation for The Access Academy. Sumner Co. Schools has partnered with The Access Academy for two years to bring more transition opportunities for our students with disabilities. In those two years, The Access Academy staff have instructed close to 100 students through their Pre-Employment Transitional Services (Pre-ETS) program and last year we extended our partnership to include Welch College to establish our first Project SEARCH in Sumner Co.
I have enjoyed working with Tim Robbins and his staff at The Access Academy. They have provided multiple opportunities for our students and have always handled issues professionally and with integrity. Tim works closely with me and the teachers to make certain that we are satisfied with the level of support that they are providing for our students and are always open to making changes when necessary. He and his staff are easily accessible if a problem arises and will work diligently to solve the issue immediately.
The Access Academy has been the perfect CRP for us in developing our Project SEARCH also. Their experience with starting a Project SEARCH program has been valuable to Sumner Co. Schools when beginning our partnership with Welch College. Tim and his Project SEARCH manager have been involved in the process from the beginning and have helped us to secure a host business, map out the job rotation sites, and develop our skills assessment day for potential participants.
Partnering with The Access Academy has been a win/win for Sumner Co. Schools and I would highly recommend a partnership with them to begin a similar program in your area. Please feel free to contact me with any questions of details about the work we have accomplished through this partnership.

Ms. Sharon does a wonderful job on being here on time. She has always dressed appropriately and is a wonderful role model for the female students. She exhibits well prepared lesson plans each week and captivates the students and keeps them on task each visit. The curriculum fits the students perfectly. The instructor does an awesome job getting the key points across. Her ability to reach the students is amazing!

My students look forward each week for this class period. I feel they are learning very important life lessons. Students are engaged and active in class, having fun and learning at the same time. This program has helped me to become a better teacher myself.
In summary, I enjoy the program just as much as the students. I have a passion for these lessons and the students learning about real life situations. These are the skills we should be teaching these young people each and every day. This is a wonderful program!

Shane goes above and beyond to bring the lesson to life. He’s always prepared, meeting the kids on their various levels of learning skills. He is very respectful to all who are present, even the subs. He does a wonderful job getting the kids involved. He is always prepared and knows how to control the group.

Ms. Miche is always on time, dressed professionally. The students see her as another teacher. She provides instructionally appropriate material that my students really enjoy. She always has a great lesson. We are thankful for Ms. Miche! She makes our Fridays better!

Jamie works hard to help and improve the expectations of the students. She will ask about the content and who/what needs to be modified so that the student understands. Jamie is great to work with and she works really hard to help the students each time she is here.

Ms. Carlynn is awesome! She has built great relationships with teachers and students here at DB. It is neat to see her get participation out of the students that don’t always participate. We are very happy to have her as part of our TSW Program!

Ashley has been able to engage the students in the lessons and activities. She has been extremely helpful in giving me information to continue the discussions on other days.
